Guitar Lessons

Every student I have taught has come to me with different requirements for learning the guitar, and I believe the most fundamental aspect of teaching is to provide a fresh and unique approach for each student’s needs. Playing the guitar isn’t just about learning strumming patterns and a few chords and scales – knowing how to ‘hear’ the music is every bit as important as knowing where to put your fingers on the fretboard.

Making guitar lessons inspiring

No matter what style I teach I always try including songs that are of particular interest to the student. This makes the lessons more inspiring and, in turn, more educational.

I strongly recommend following a structured syllabus of learning which will help you achieve a set of goals and develop a greater understanding of your instrument.

All lessons I provide are 30 minutes in length, as I have learned that hour-long lessons require too much concentration from the student – it is a proven fact that people don’t take in anymore information for this length of time. I recommend that every student has at least one lesson per week. Whether you want to master advanced techniques and theory or just learn how to play songs from your favourite artists, I will be able to take your guitar playing to the next level.

Lessons are available during the following hours:

Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 8:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00pm (noon)

Strumming, timing and alternate rhythm patterns
Introduction and theory behind different genres (Rock, Pop, Reggae, Alternative, Blues, Folk)
Open Tuning – chords, scales and well-known pieces
Tablature and basic music notation
Advanced strumming and combination rhythm styles
Maintaining and caring for your instrument
